Intern Spotlight: Chase Williams

We are excited to highlight one of our talented Engineering Interns from our Stafford, CT facility, Chase Williams. He is making remarkable strides this summer at TTM Technologies.

1. What school do you attend, and what is your major?

I attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and I am a Mechanical Engineering major.

2. Why did you choose TTM for your internship?

I chose TTM for my internship because my mentor, Lucas, came and spoke at UMass about his experience as an intern. He is now a full-time engineer at TTM. The program seemed very well structured, and the projects he worked on interested me.

3. What are you enjoying most about your internship journey so far?

What I enjoy most is the amount of freedom and trust my mentors and champions give me with my project. They are always there when I need guidance and support me in any way they can.

4. What project are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the Automated RF Puck Placer. I am just getting started on it, but I can’t wait to see it completed.

5. Would you recommend the TTM internship program to fellow classmates? Why?

I would recommend the TTM internship program to fellow classmates. The program is structured very well, and everyone I have talked to at the company is super nice and very helpful. They don’t see you as an intern but as an actual engineer, and they treat you that way.

You are given projects and tasks that full-time engineers at the company would work on. It has given me a lot of experience, and I feel like it would help others learn more about engineering and what an engineering job could look like after graduating.

6. Any interesting facts about you or any hobbies?

I am on the UMass Triathlon Team and like to compete in triathlons. I also like to build rockets as I am a member of the UMass Rocket Team.
