TTM’s objective is for all of our products to be confirmed “DRC Conflict Free.”
Conflict Minerals are commonly extracted in a conflict zone and sold to perpetuate fighting amongst armed groups. The four most commonly defined conflict minerals are coltan (tantalum), cassiterite (tin), wolframite (tungsten), and gold, collectively known as “3TG”. These minerals have supported various armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding countries.
As responsible corporate citizens, TTM’s objective is to confirm all of our products are “DRC Conflict Free.” Sources of conflict minerals in our supply chain must be appropriately investigated and confirmed to not directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries (Covered Countries). The Responsible Minerals Initiative ("RMI"), of which TTM is a member, supports this endeavor by auditing mineral smelters, maintaining supply chain reporting templates, and engaging with minerals stakeholders around the world.
As part of our Conflict Minerals Policy, TTM will:
-
Exercise due diligence as specified in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High Risk Areas (OECD Framework) and related 3T and gold supplements.
-
Support industry groups such as the Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) that are focusing on industry-wide solutions.
-
Share applicable information with customers and in accordance with US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules.
-
Require its first tier suppliers of 3TG to:
Implement sourcing initiatives to favor socially responsible suppliers.
Exercise due diligence to determine the source of conflict minerals.
Only procure material that is “DRC Conflict Free.”
Provide all requested Conflict Minerals information.
Suppliers who fail to meet the above requirements will risk consideration for future business. TTM will immediately terminate business with suppliers who support direct or indirect financing of armed groups in the covered countries.
TTM maintains a Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) for our printed circuit board (PCB) and RF/Microwave businesses.
